What this test measures, and how to read your result

Every run gives you three numbers: total clicks, CPS (clicks per second), and CPM (clicks per minute). CPS is the one that matters — it’s your total clicks divided by however long the test ran, and it’s the number every click-speed community rallies around. The trace above your click area shows exactly when each click landed during the run: a dense, even trace means a controlled, sustained pace; a trace that’s packed on the left and thins out toward the right means you started fast and faded, which is completely normal and worth knowing about your own form.

Below your CPS and CPM, you’ll see a tier — Idle through Redline. These aren’t arbitrary labels. They map to real, distinct populations of clickers, from casual first-time visitors up through people who’ve spent months refining a specific technique. The tier table further down breaks down exactly where each range sits and what it typically indicates about your technique. Your result also gets compared automatically against your own personal best for that specific duration — each duration tracks its own best separately, since a 1-second peak and a 60-second average aren’t the same achievement and shouldn’t be judged against each other.

Choosing a test duration

The five duration options aren’t just difficulty settings — they measure genuinely different things, and picking the right one depends on what you’re trying to find out.

A useful habit: don’t just run one test and call it your score. Run the same duration three or four times, resting between attempts, and look at your median rather than your single best run. Click speed varies meaningfully run to run — a lot more than people expect from what feels like a simple, repeatable action.

The names are deliberately borrowed from instrumentation rather than gaming — “Idle” and “Redline” are tachometer terms, because a click-speed test is fundamentally a timing instrument, not a toy.
